Frontier School District takes a nose dive in school rankings!

29 05 2007

Frontier School District took a nose dive in this years school rankings as reported by Business First Magazine. I feel vindicated after the comments I made were rebuffed by Mr. Commerford and Mr. Figiel of the school board who toted how great a job they have done over the last few years.

Frontier was ranked 10th overall last year and I have said publicly that the District was over rated by Business First. This year the District was ranked at 14th. Never mind that we pay enough money per child to send every student in the district to the number 1 private school in WNY. Never mind that the District has raised your taxes more than 60% over the last 10 years and never mind that the student enrollment is at a 10 year low. Read the rest of this entry »

Stand and face the issue or stick your head in the sand. What’s it going to be?

29 05 2007

I wrote this article last week but then it was deleted by Tony Fracasso of SpeakupWNY before it was on the site an hour. I am going to try and rewrite it as best I can but if you happened to read the other article before the site was taken down then I apologize for any differences in it.

The issue here is how does Homosexuality influence government and what are we as a society going to do about it. You see the premise for this article is on the fact that the Hamburg Democratic Party has hired Larry Adamczyk as their campaign manager for all the town positions up for election this year. It is no secret that Larry is a homosexual who is infected with HIV/AIDS. I am not “outing” Larry since his homosexuality has been written about numerous times in the past and if you would like you can go to the www.buffalonews.com and search Larry’s name in the archive search. Comments from Kevin Smardz

Kevin Smardz for Hamburg Councilman

I am pleased to announce my candidacy for Hamburg Councilman. On April 24, 2007 the Town of Hamburg Republican Committee unanimously endorsed me as a candidate for Hamburg Councilman. Also, on May 24, the Hamburg Conservative Committee endorsed me as one of their candidates with overwhelming majority vote.

I have chosen to live in Hamburg, work in Hamburg, and with my wife, raise my family in Hamburg. I believe that there is a tremendous future for our town, if we have fresh, new, innovative leadership. For more than a decade, we have seen an unbalanced town board continually raise taxes while draining town reserve funds. The board’s unfriendly practices toward business in Hamburg have been evident on many occasions.

This unbalanced town board continues to grow the size of government at the cost of the taxpayers. The hard-working families of Hamburg can no longer fund the unnecessary and wasteful spending of this town board. My experience working in the private sector with small businesses, corporations, and currently a non-profit corporation, has given me the leadership and management skills needed to prosper Hamburg for future generations. I know first hand the responsibility of working within a budget to accomplish a project.
