Frontier School District took a nose dive in this years school rankings as reported by Business First Magazine. I feel vindicated after the comments I made were rebuffed by Mr. Commerford and Mr. Figiel of the school board who toted how great a job they have done over the last few years.
Frontier was ranked 10th overall last year and I have said publicly that the District was over rated by Business First. This year the District was ranked at 14th. Never mind that we pay enough money per child to send every student in the district to the number 1 private school in WNY. Never mind that the District has raised your taxes more than 60% over the last 10 years and never mind that the student enrollment is at a 10 year low.

What you should pay mind to is that for all this money you are paying out in taxes, top 5 in WNY, Frontier School District dove four spots and out of the top 10. Satisfied yet? Isn’t it amazing that these figures were not released by the school system or the NY Board of Education until after elections were over. Do you possibly think there was a reason for that? Damn right there was!
Well now you are stuck with the same people for at least another year. You are stuck with a tax increase and your mortgage escrow going up about $75 for every $100,000 your house is worth. Satisfied yet? I’m not either! The question now becomes, what are you going to do about it?
Are you willing to give up 1 hour a month to go to the school board meetings? Are you willing to participate and write letters to the editor of the Hamburg Sun? Are you even willing to comment here on how you are dissatisfied with the school district? Just wait until the middle school and high school are ranked in the next couple of weeks. I’m willing to bet they fell well below the rank of 17th for the middle school and 20th for the high school they had last year in WNY Business First Magazine.
Time to make a stand folks! Time to stand up and yell at the school board, “I’m not satisfied”! See you all there.
