Apology to Jim Sorrentino and family!

29 06 2007

Those of you who read this site probably say to yourselves that I slant way to the right in my political beliefs and you’re right. You probably say that I am offensive at times and you’re right again. But unfortunately if you think I am serious in everything I say here then you’re dead wrong.

The problem is I’m a novice writer with absolutely no experience in writing articles. I try my best to put a humorous flare on serious issues or my head would explode from the frustration of every day politics that hurt the public.

Because of something I said a while back that was meant to be humorous and was taken by Jim Sorrentino and his family as offensive, I now apologize. I wish I could have the writing flare of a Dave Barry or the late Charles Schultz, but I don’t and still need to learn that.

What I said in a previous article was in relation to the hiring of a person who is openly gay. In that article I made a remark meant to be humorous and was apparently taken wrong by Mr. Sorrentino. What I said was that “perhaps the hiring of Mr. Adamczyk was the first step of Jim Sorrentino coming out of the closet.”

At no time did I actually mean that Jim is gay. I have known for a long time that he is a great family man who is a heterosexual. In my comment and the article I was simply trying to put humor in an otherwise distasteful article that needed to be written because of the impending signing of the same sex marriage law that is now on Governor Spitzer’s desk. Both the State Legislature and the State Senate have approved the bill and it’s only a matter of time until it becomes law.

I was trying to show how same sex marriages dissolve the religious conservative values our country was founded on but I guess I went a little to far. So in closing I would like to reiterate that I’m sorry for any humiliation that comment caused Jim and his family.
