“Blast at the Beach” not such a blast for some!

29 07 2007

Saturday July 28th was the annual “Blast at the Beach” in Hamburg. Teenagers abound, police everywhere and parents in lawn chairs waiting for the fireworks to start. Well the fireworks show was OK but paled in comparison to Hamburgs Freedom Festival. The funny part is that the best fireworks have yet to start. Read the rest of this entry »

Tom Best makes a pledge to the community!

26 07 2007

Tom Best held another fundraiser tonight at the VFW Post 1419 on Lakeview Rd. in Hamburg tonight. More than 300 people showed up at $30 each. The evening was very pleasant and Tom made everyone feel very comfortable. Lots of raffles and prizes to go into the kitty for attending and the 50/50 went for $600 to the winner.

The highlight was Tom pledging to the residents of Hamburg that he “will do all he can, with all he has, to make Hamburg a better place to live.” That drew a lot of applause and Tom is well on his way to a win this November. Kevin Smardz showed up and was honored by Tom. Good luck to the two of them, I’m looking forward to a campaign on the issues.

Hamburg Town Councilman, Tom Quatroche, Caught lying to the town residents!

25 07 2007

On July 16th at the last Hamburg Town Council Meeting ,Tom Quatroche objected to the appointment of Carmen Kesner and Captain Mike Williams to the respective temporary positions as Chief of Police and Assistant Chief of Police. Tom told the public his objection was because Supervisor Walters sprung the issue on the Town Council at the last minute and Tom and “Dicky” Smith were never given the opportunity to discuss the issue or interview Carmen or Mike for the position because of the short time frame. They also claimed they were unaware of the forthcoming appointments and were blocking the appointments until they had a chance to speak to both Carmen and Mike. The facts are quite different. Here is the latest inside scoop on politics in Hamburg and beyond.

24 07 2007

First, Paul Clark and Anthony Orsini made a huge mistake on the petitions for Clark. Supposedly the primary date was listed wrong and all those petitions were thrown out. Word is that on Thursday July 18th, Paul had an army of people out trying to gather enough signatures to protect his endorsement. No word if they got enough signatures as of yet. Harry Potter does it again!

16 07 2007

I’m really not trying to be a film critic here. I know this will be the second article about a film in so many weeks but I just love the Harry Potter Series. I must admit that when Harry Potter films come out I feel like a kid again and can’t wait to see it. My kids love the series just as much as I do and this is something the whole family can enjoy.
