I went down to the BOE this morning to find out about the 2 districts that didn’t get reported last night. What I found out was that the Districts at Grace Lutheran Church (Districts 32 & 33) didn’t report and the Hamburg Village Hall (Districts Districts 47 & 54) didn’t report. I have no idea why the computer says only two districts not reporting. My guess is that they meant two polling places. Each district only had 1 voting machine so these districts are still up for grabs.
I will most likely lose district 33 but I can make it up on 32 depending on the outcome. Districts 47 and 54 should be in my corner but nothing is certain at this point. The BOE won’t know anything until later but it was also stressed to me that the BOE expects the count to be wrong in a number of districts because of the confusion last night with the County Executive race taking up all the attention. I was told to wait until the re-canvass of the machines especially if the race is within 15-20 votes.
So we are now in a waiting mode. I couldn’t get an answer as to how the BOE will handle the issue of IP members not voting on the IP line because the workers didn’t know how to switch the machine from Democrat to IP at the Frontier Community Center. I know at least 7 people voted from the IP prior to the problem being addressed by an IP member who spoke up.
We will just have to wait and see what happens.
It’s almost 3pm and the BOE still doesn’t know the results of those two districts. I’m told the envelope containing that information will not be opened until the official re-canvass of the machines and paperwork early next week. I’m also told everything reported last night is unofficial and is very likely inaccurate. I find it hard to believe it will be inaccurate but stranger things have happened over the last couple of years with the BOE.
The last 2-3 years the BOE has committed felonies by not following election law in regards to reporting on election night. They have always come up with a BS excuse and I wonder what it will be this year. All I can say is be patient, I know it’s hard, I’m climbing the walls here waiting on some word of this.
Follow every step that BOE makes. I believe Sorrentino is a consultant for BOE, and Pat Hoak also works there.
Is it not obvious to Town Residents that most things seem to point to the Town Attorney’s questionable legal actions, the Board’s blantant actions to retain control, Code violations by the Towm Building Inspetors et., etc.,
AS a registered Democrat, I am devastated, and feel betrayed. WNY will never see revitalizatiom until there is change. If that change miraculously occurs, you can be sure we will be watching to see these things don’t hapen again.
Pat Hoak at BOE. God help us.
