Mike Crawford, newly appointed Hamburg School Superintendent, is going to hold a public meeting on October 24th so citizens can voice their concerns and help decide how wade through the 1.8 million dollar deficit. Mike has just started his job and now he has probably the toughest assignment in his career to get through. 1.8 million bucks is nothing to sneeze at and he knows it. Read the rest of this entry »

Hamburg Police making our streets safer!
17 10 2007Well I have to say thank you to the Hamburg Police once again. Even though the issue shows a continuing problem within our town I’m happy our police force is on the ball when dealing with this crap. What am I talking about? Well another drug dealer was taken down this week.
This time the guy was selling the hard stuff, heroin, in a school zone. He won’t see the outside of a prison for quite a while, thank god. People like him should be lined up at the town square and stoned to death if you ask me. Attacking our kids with this poison should be as bad as it gets and the punishment even worse. Kevin’s response to U.S. Census Bureau Data…
“Career politicians continue to erode Western New York. With your vote on November 6th, I can help end the era of career politicians in Hamburg. There is hope, and I ask for your vote to bring new leadership to Hamburg Town Hall to move our town forward.” Read the rest of this entry »

How stupid do we, the public, look?
16 10 2007I can’t believe what I’m reading in the Buffalo News and on the Internet about Mike Mullins and his secret bags of money he gave to Paul Clark. It’s just amazing that this guy thinks that we will believe he was a patsy in all this. Mullins has been around politics for years and he even gave Judy Orsini a job in exchange for Tony giving Paul Clark the IP endorsement illegally this year. Read the rest of this entry »

Orsini revisited
14 10 2007Anyone who has paid any attention to any of the corrupt dealings within the leadership of the Erie County Independence Party may remember these stories reported by the Buffalo News. Year after year the Buffalo News, Channel 2, 4 and 7 and all the radio talk shows come out with more abuses of our self proclaimed chairmen.
Considering the well written stories by Glenn Gramigna about the on going battle between Orsini/Koziol and the reform minded members, including myself, I thought you may enjoy reading these articles again to remind you of just how bad things are in county politics. Read the rest of this entry »

11 10 2007Woodlawn Fire Department
Provided by: Steven Walters
It was recently announced that the Woodlawn Volunteer FD was awarded a $37,000 grant in order to update its turnout gear. This is another example of our fire companies taking advantage of an opportunity for alternative funding sources in an effort to keep district taxes down. Congratulations to Woodlawn.

Vincent Gugliuzza Finally complies!
10 10 2007Vinny Gugliuzza finally complied with the NYS Election Law requirement to file pre and post primary financial reports. He electronically filed his reports 2 days after it was first reported by Hamburg First that he was delinquent. Vinny wouldn’t have needed to file any reports if he spent less than $1000 of his own money but after reviewing several other candidates reports it was very apparent they had contributed much more than the required $1000 to Vinny.
His campaign report also shows he has spent more then he has taken in and his campaign is now in debt. The latest politician to pull the same kind of stunt is Paul Clark. Is Vinny another Paul Clark in an Independent Democrat disguise?
So as of 9am today his reports are available for anyone to view at: http://www.elections.state.ny.us/plsql_browser/getfiler2?filerid_in=C30949

Is Dick Smith a traitor to the unions?
10 10 2007A funny thing happened tonight on the local message boards. Some one spoke up and asked why Dick Smith is using non-union printers for his campaign signs. I really hadn’t noticed it until tonight’s discussion and then I walked down the street and looked at a sign up close. No union bug on his signs anywhere. Read the rest of this entry »
