Kevin Smardz and Tom Best WIN! (unofficially)

Hamburg First has learned that 100% of the unofficial machine tally is in and Kevin Smardz has beaten Dicky Smith by 205 votes. This is no surprise as we reported early this morning that the Kevin Smardz lead was insurmountable. The official tally will not be conducted until next week as the usual practice by the Erie County Board of Elections Commissioners.

Best and Smardz claim VICTORY!!

Tom Best and Kevin Smardz claimed victory tonight. They claim that even though 6 districts are still not reported, and that only one district is expected to fall to the Democrats, they know the results of at least three of the other five districts. In total Tom Best has swept the town for his expected victory onto the Town Council and Kevin Smardz now has a known 350+ vote lead. Both Smardz and Best feel that lead is insurmountable by Dick Smith even though 400+ absentee/affidavit ballots remain to be counted.

12 hours and counting until polls open

Well it’s upon us. Time to go decide the near future of the Town of Hamburg. Do we continue down the road of partisan politics and tax increases by the Hamburg Democrats or do we make a change for the better and elect Tom Best and Kevin Smardz? I can’t think of an election where the choices were any clearer.

I sent out this letter to all the IP prime voters in the 12th Legislative District.  What are your thoughts? I believe the members of our party will respond with 80% of the vote favoring the Republicans in the District.

A Message from Supervisor Walters!

ATTENTION HAMBURG TAXPAYERS:

In 2005, I was elected by you, the taxpayers of the Town of Hamburg, to reform town government and be a real voice for the people.

Over the past two years, the entrenched politicians fought to maintain status quo by:

• Eliminating the deputy supervisor position when I did not select one of them;

• Removing my authority as police liaison after I found inefficiencies in the department;

• Attempting to restrict my access to town records;

• Making the Hamburg Democratic Party Chairman, Vincent Sorrentino, the town attorney, without posting the position to the public.

Kevin Smardz wants to make sure our tax money is spent wisely!

The entrenched politicians at Hamburg Town Hall have been draining the Hamburg Part Town Operating Fund (Hamburg Savings).

In 2003 it was $5 million and at the end of 2006 it was less than $1 million.

Tonight is the debate at Immaculata Academy. I want to know what you think will happen during the debate. Will Kathy Hochul dance around her flip flop? Will Tom Best point out Dick Smiths voting record of yes for every tax increase while in the State Assembly? Can Kevin Smardz convince enough people to pull the lever for him?
