Can you help me decide a Christmas present.

4 12 2007

I have a fourteen year old son who I am having a hard time deciding what to get him for Christmas. I was wondering if any of you would have some constructive ideas that aren’t real expensive. I’m considering getting him a laptop computer in the hope it will help with his school work. I just can’t find a decent one for under $400.

I am also considering getting him some paintball equipment. He enjoys playing that with his friends. He has an I-Pod and he has a lot of money on the I-Pod store download account so that idea’s out. I would like to get him something he would enjoy and hopefully help him with school. Anyone have any ideas?

You tell me the story!

OK, for the last 24 hours or so I have been inundated with comments and e-mails about the Big Tree Volunteer Fire Department. Many have been constructive and a lot have been attacks on me and my family. I delete the attacks as a common practice. How ever some of you out there want to drag Ray Pawlowski into the discussion and some of you try to discredit the guy for one reason or another. Read the rest of this entry »

More money – secret deals – your tax dollars at work!

Hamburg First has been digging for information on the Big Tree Fire Department for a while now. Up till now our unofficial requests have been met with stony silence. I now have had some information fall into my lap and what little I have found out is astounding. Are you ready? I hope you’re sitting down. Read the rest of this entry »

Sorry, been busy

3 12 2007

Sorry I haven’t written any articles lately. I took a few days off for some R&R. I’m back now and need to get reacquainted with the political scene in Hamburg. As soon as I get some info I’ll have it up.

I have heard that the Supervisor has had meetings with Kevin Smardz and Tom Best to discuss the changes that will be made. I also heard they are reviewing the appointments to every town board and plan to make a lot of changes. I haven’t heard what those changes will be, but here are a couple guesses that I think will happen.

First, I’m willing to bet that Gerry Koenig will be replaced as Chairman of the Town Planning Board. Mr. Bloabour (sp?) will be replaced as chairman of the Variance Appeals Board and the Supervisor will be listed as liaison to the Police Department. I’m sure a Deputy Supervisor will be named this year and Walters will be named as department head to several other departments, giving him much more power to hire and fire. Stay Tuned.
