Jack Quinn Jr. Snubbed by Gaughan and her Crew!

8 06 2008

Hamburg First has learned that the Erie County Independence Party Executive Committee met and held its local endorsement meeting tonight. I’m told that Mary Rose Gaughan wanted to give a local Democrat the IP endorsement for the 146th Assembly District even though Jack Quinn Jr. has received the IP endorsement in the past and has been a loyal supporter of our Independence Party.

Her attempt failed at the last second as a deal was worked out to keep the line empty. This should be a major wake up call to all who watch politics closely. Mary Rose Gaughan and the people closest to her are 100% in the pockets of the Democratic Party. After losing her job recently she went to the Dems and got another one from Dem headquarters working for the state. I guess for those willing to sell their souls there will always be a job in government.

Rest assured that if I continue as Chairman of the Hamburg IP after this years committee elections and reorg meeting, I will not be selling out to get a job. If i ever take a job in government it will be because I scored high enough on a civil service exam and earned the job myself.

Other news out there is that the Dems and their team are carrying IP petitions around with Brian Higgins name for Congress. Higgins hasn’t received permission to run on the IP line but he has allowed supporters to carry them anyway. It is my view that their intention is to use Higgins name to get the required signatures and then substitute another IP member using the “committee to fill vacancies” clause in the election law.

This is dirty politics at its worst. It amounts to a flat out lie to members of our party. These people are going door to door asking for support for Brian Higgins while full knowing that he will not be on our line and these people will end up helping someone they never heard of get on the ballot.

Once again we are involved in cleaning up the mess the Dems are willing to create as long as they win at all costs. When will this crap cease to end?

Ford, I don’t know why you are so surprised about this. The actions taken were a direct result of Jack appearing in ads supporting the Republican candidates for office. Since one was Tom Best & the Town Board universally disliked him, it was only a matter of time before the backlash hit.

It won’t reall;y matter because the Dems have their sights set on the Senate races. Whether or not Jack is in the Assembly is of no consequence to them at all.
