This new year will bring a hole bunch of local elected seats up for grabs. The Supervisors seat, two other Council seats, a Town Justice, Town Clerk and the Highway Superintendent. What a line up for some fun and shenanigans for those of us who want to make the machine scramble and worry! We all know how I feel, but this year can be yours if you want it to be. What town code would you change if it were in your power to do so? I made it quite clear that I would like to see the fee for documents procured from the legal “freedom of information law (FOIL)” made much smaller or even eliminated. I would like to see the town code, that makes people put off the road vehicles in a garage, defined so at least one vehicle can be left in the driveway for you to strip or work on as a project car.
I think that if you speak out now and make your voice loud, then the powers that be will respond because of the elections coming up. Make something an issue and stick to it. Call these guys out and make them respond. Do you want fire districts merged? Would you like to see the emergency dispatchers merged with the county? Should control of highway jobs be placed back into the town councils hands or should the highway supervisor continue to control those decisions?
Now is the time to speak out folks. Give me some insight into what you want to be an issue and I’ll do my best to make it one.
SAVE THE TOWN A TON OF MONEY AND THE SINGLE DEPARTMENT WILL BE PROPERLY STAFFED. GET RID OF ALL THE FIRE HALLS AND EXTRA FIRE TRUCKS.
I would love to see a higher up from the fire departments stand up for the fire departments (9) in Hmbg and the Villages for that statement ! What DOES justify having all this firefighting equipment ? Why does Hmbg have more inventory than the City of Buffalo ? (or is this a false rumor). We need to put these rumors to rest. To date I have never heard a dissenter from inside any of the fire dapartments. I also have not, for obvious reason, heard any incumbants or candidates care to bring this issue up. I think the taxpayers are owed an explanation; if not just for academic reasons.
Is anyone watching how taxpayers money is used by any Town Dept, especially the fire departments?
