Frontier School System Raises Taxes AGAIN!

25 04 2009

I’m a bit pissed at myself. I had the opportunity to run a couple people for frontier School Board and decided not to do it. Not because I thought it was a bad idea but because we decided to run them for Hamburg Town Council instead. Never-the-less Frontier once again wants to raise your taxes.

It never ends folks and as long as the Frontier School System is dominated by Demoncrats it won’t change. Tax and spend is all they know. It is apparently obvious that the demoncrats believe it is better to raise taxes a little each year then let the community have a break from increases and then wake up and challenge future increases.

You can always vote no on the budget and if their is a challenger to the incumbents then support that person, but in the end it stays the same.

By the way, if you haven’t been paying attention, the Frontier School Board wants to force parents to attend special drug classes before they will allow their child to go to the school prom. This effort is being led by Martin Lalka, AKA Martin the mailman. I told you the guy wasn’t to smart. To think that parents are going to spend their evening sitting in classes so a kid can go to a prom is nuts. But hey, you elected this crack pot.

I would not mind if the drop out rate weren’t so high; the SAT scores so low and the school stood out for excellence. With 9 school board members one would think that excellence in some area would not be hard to achieve. Bring back Tom Best so that he can fail to show up for school board meetings; this is probably just as ineffective as what is on the school board now.

This school System has been in the tanks for years! Have you just noticed it? Everything that is wrong with school systems is represented by Frontier. That is what happens when the school board is made up of active democrats that will spend money instead of holding people accountable and start representing the public interest like they are supposed to.

People don’t understand in today’s day and age that the school board is our representative against unfunded mandates, unnecessary tax increases and they are supposed to strangle the teachers union to force them into fair contracts and proper work habits.

Instead we have allowed the public to think the school board is supposed to tax us and do the bidding of the state education board. Nothing is farther from the truth but until the public wakes up and gets involved, then nothing will ever change.

Active Democrats? Paul Pellicano ran as a Republican for Town Counsel. If you check affiliations 3 Republican, 1 Conservative, 2 Democrat and the rest are blanks.

I think it’s a great idea that parents attend a meeting. In fact I feel they should have every parent attend with there child before the school year even starts. There are way to many parents who have no clue that their children are doing the things they are. And I am talking about children who are still in Middle School showing up to functions high. What a dissapointment.

Why don’t we close Frontier and send our kids to St. Francis, Bishop Timon or Nichols. We would all reduce our property taxes. By the way can I opt out of the Frontier Newsletter – it keeps reminding me of an unacceptable drop out rate and low SAT scores. Further, it reminds me that I do not have merit roll kids with perfect attendance. It is always the same kids or families. I would rather hear about the kid with a low IQ that gets a high school degree because of great teachers.
