I think every news reporting media have reported the abuses of patronage at one time or another. Hell, I take every opportunity to reveal it that comes my way. But the more you look the sicker it gets. For just one local Lawyer it seems his secrets are coming out of the closet a little at a time.
What am I talking about? The Buffalo News article on another of Vincent James Sorrentino’s scams against the public and the sheer hundreds of thousands of public dollars he and his law firm scams from our pockets every year. This time it has been exposed that his law firm collects hundreds of thousands of patronage bucks from Erie County and NYS Estate work from people with no heirs.
So lets see now, what were the others? Well he gets cash for a little to do job with the Lackawanna Public Housing Authority as their lawyer. He gets another big check from the Erie County Water Authority where he has little legal work to justify the fees. Now it’s exposed about the Estate money. Lets not forget the former stipend he received as Hamburg Town Attorney before he was sent to the sidelines for four years.
But let’s not count that out just yet. As Hamburg Demon-cratic “patronage” Chairman, I’m sure he will jump for joy all the way to the bank if his party takes back the Town Council this year. I know for certain that he rarely works at his law firm, Cole, Sorrentino, Hurley, Hewner and Gambino.
So when exactly does the guy work for his money? Beats me! Maybe you all know the answer to that one.
So, if anyone knows of any more of Vincent James Sorrentinos patronage scams, please post them. I think it’s time for the public to know the whole truth about how much of our tax dollars go into his pocket!
