I have watched a lot of the Republican debates for President lately and many of the candidates stand out with at least one specific issue they are trying to distinguish themselves with. However, Ron Paul has been dead on with every issue, but he gets hammered for his response on whether or not the USA government should be faulted for the attacks of 9/11/2001.
The one thing American citizens hate to do is admit when they are wrong. It’s even harder to get the political leaders of our government to admit when they screw up. It’s nothing new, actually it is the norm since the creation of our country a couple hundred years ago.
If you really think about it you can only come to the conclusion that our government is considered the largest terrorist organization. I know for a fact the rest of the world really believes that and I for one can tell you that I talk to Canadian citizens all the time that think our government is absolutely not to be trusted. Not to mention I have traveled around this world twice, visiting dozens of countries.
The question then becomes “why is this?”
Well you can start by examining some of the largest events in our country’s history. You will find numerous instances of our national arrogance imposing our will on uninterested societies. For instance during the mid 1800’s our government decided that we wanted land occupied by the Native Americans and that they would be better of living lives like the rest of us. When they resisted we basically exterminated them. Their true culture and way of life was destroyed forever.
Even before that we decided that we needed cheap labor to work our fields. So our forefathers sent ships to abduct Africans from their homeland for slavery. We used the same justification, that we know better about how they should live, and our way of life is better for them. Thus began a couple hundred years of social destruction of African families and their own culture.
When we get to the 1860’s we turn on ourselves. Our own citizenry couldn’t be content to live and let live. Our lust for war and oppression led to the Civil War. Only after the North was about to lose the war did President Lincoln free the slaves. Doing that saved the North from destruction, but it only happened under threat of the rebels winning the war.
Go forward another hundred years and, oh say, four more wars in the books, and those very African Americans are being murdered for simply demanding the very civil rights they earned over three hundred years in this country. We murdered their leaders and lynched any one of those who dared to try and get a meal in front of Caucasians or who would ride at the front of a bus.
So when I tell you that it’s true our country has no problem killing children in other parts of the world, it should not be a surprise or even controversial. We have sold weapons illegally (even recently), bombed foreign schools killing thousands of children, murdered innocent civilians, interned our own citizens without warrant or cause, eliminated foreign governments who we don’t agree with, and have placed our military on 900+ bases in foreign lands to intimidate anyone who disagrees with our national ideology.
It’s all true!
So the question Ron Paul and I pose to you is this? If ChinaorRussiawere to send troops and occupy theUSA. If they dropped bombs on our kids, sent missiles into targets that turned out to be peaceful, and snatched up anyone who voiced disagreement with their policies, WOULD YOU FIGHT BACK? Consider it the “Red Dawn” scenario.
Of course we would! So why shouldn’t the people of theMiddle East? Our media has labeled these people as Muslim fanatics, Terrorist, but remember those labels are relative to who is saying them.
I’m not saying its right or wrong for them to fight back in the manner they did. But I do understand it and if you look at what we have done, and the example we have set from the beginning our country was founded. Then it is understandable that the people of the world don’t want us in their lives. Ron Paul is RIGHT! We should accept responsibility for those attacks and get the Hell out of other countries business.
In the end it’s your decision what you want to believe. I hope you see the truth.
